- Michael,
- You are almost surely correct that the task is larger than those around
- you believe!
-
- We began the DOS port of Pine nearly a year ago with the expectation that
- it would be in production by last Fall. We now hope the "final" beta
- will be ready in about two weeks... True, a lot of the delay was in
- reinventing virtual memory, which I'm told Microsoft has already done for
- Windows, but it is still easy to be too optimistic.
-
- As for Windows IMAP clients: a company in Canada (ISA) has one called
- ECS, but I'm not sure if it is "ready" yet, or what the licensing terms are.
-
- Also, Wollongong's Pathway Messenger products talk to IMAP servers, but
- someone told me that they tend to operate more in "POP mode" which may be
- a problem in a multiplatform environment. (I ordered copies to try out a
- couple of months ago, but they haven't arrived yet.)
-
- I believe there are folks from both ISA and TWG on this list, so more
- definitive info may be forthcoming.
